For many years, the annual Community Christmas Meal we have hosted at City Centre Church has become an expression of love, family and connection from the churches of Saskatoon and area to those in the inner city who are hungry, hurting and in need of the light of Christ. This year is different though… serving a meal to a thousand people in our building in the middle of a pandemic just isn’t possible. But we believe we are still called to make a difference even in the midst of a Covid season.
This year, instead of having the community come to us; we are planning to go to them. Our plan is to bring a ‘Christmas Cheer’ package to as many homes in our neighbourhood as we can. The goal for this is to not only to show the meaning of Christmas through this package but to make a connection by which we can continue to support those in our neighbourhood. This box of goods will contain all that is needed to create a special Christmas meal for a family, along with a Bible, & of course some candy canes, chocolates and gifts. We plan on delivering these packages to the families in mid-December who have registered . We are hoping to raise at least 10,000 dollars in order to faciliate this.
Would you be willing to help us financially as we reach into Saskatoon’s inner city with the light of Christ? Your help enables us to impact lives with the gospel by showing how much we all care.
