Stewardship

Stewardship is what most churches would call membership. The Greek word for steward in the NT means house manager. We believe that we are all called to be part of managing the house of God - the church - that Jesus has called us to.

We see stewardship connected to our place in the local church body much more than membership which is something that happens globally when we get saved. (Rom. 12:5; Eph. 5:30).

We believe that we are called to steward the house of God, by the grace of God, through the gifts of God and being a recognized part of a local body allows each of us to do this. (1 Peter 4:10, Gal. 6:9-10)

Stewardship truly is not about STATUS but about FAITHFULNESS!

    Inviting

    Who is the one I am being Jesus to?
    ​Am I making a purposeful point to reach out to my neighbours (those in my sphere of influence) to bring them into the body of Christ?

Why become a recognized steward?

  • Allows us to bear one another up in love. Galatians 6.1-2

  • Provides a place for us to be honest, open and transparent with one another. James 5:16 

  • Provides a place for us to develop and use the gifts God has given us. 1 Peter 4:10

  • Ensures that we have a community surrounding us during our highs and our lows.
    ​    1 Corinthians 12:26

“Stewardship” is a commitment that you will allow others in your life to help you live holy and become more Christ-like according to the Word of God. (1 Peter 1:15, 1 Corinthians 5:11)
